Sizing

Joeys are sized like a garment to the ADULT wearer for SAFETY & COMFORT and can be used interchangeably from newborns through big kids to support your natural carrying and comforting positions when properly fitted!

SNUG is BEST for safety, comfort & optimum longevity. You can find your perfect Joey size with ONE simple measurement!

If you land between measurements (or very close to)- you may chose the smaller size for extra firm support with heavier babies + toddlers. Or choose the larger size for snug but more relaxed. We also recommend choosing the larger size when measuring during early pregnancy, when wanting JoeyWATER for more everyday use with clothing, and for MEN.

*Daddys typically prefer one size above their measurement.

Uploading a photo taking your Joey measurement helps to ensure accuracy so we can be sure to get you in the perfect size on the FIRST try.

Wash

Easy peasy.

Machine Washable.

Gentle cycle, like colors.

Lay flat, hang dry, or tumble dry low.

Weight Limit

Joey is considered an assistant carrier/ garment by CPSC, and is there to support your natural carrying & comforting positions from birth & for as long as both you and your kiddo are feeling comfy & secure (Woo Hoo!)

Generally around 35-40lbs for most.

Joeys have proven valuable in NICU settings for skin-to skin therapy when properly monitored for proper breathing and cleared/ under the guidance of a professional.

All though there may be many times users feel quite confident and secure enough to remove their hands briefly, Joey is not a "hands free device" and we recommend always staying fully aware and in control.

The ONE & ONLY True Joey

There are NO approved Joey Vendors. There are many imitators selling very poorly made "versions", frequently with stolen images, false claims & unsafe recommendations placing babies at risk.

If you have been deceived by one of these companies, we are so sorry. We highly recommend discontinuing use immediately & contacting our team with a copy of your receipt for a small gift of store credit to go towards the purchase of a real, TRUE JOEY.

Reviews

Lightweight yet very supportive

"I love this carrier! My 4 month old overheats in the 3 or 4 other wrap carriers that I've tried. They also feel too loose no matter how tight I try to tie them. But the joey air provides support and feels snug while my daughter isn't overheating! It's all so convenient and compact, that I keep it rolled up in my diaper bag when going out. It's Soo useful to support the baby while I'm at birthday parties with my older daughter, or even when I go to outdoor fairs to give my arms a break."

— Megan S. (5/5)

"We absolutely love the joey, it is worth the hype! I bought this so I could have a comfrotable carrier for both my baby and I, that I could easily put him in and carry him around the house, quick store run ins, and that is comfortable to sit in. This checks all the boxes! I have several carriers for different occasions, and this one I consistently grab the most! It is also great for walks! Im thrilled with this purchase!"

— KaeLee (5/5)

Changed my life with a newborn!

"My baby loves to be close to me but it’s annoying to use a baby wrap the whole day at home. With the hippie joey I can so quickly put it on and put the baby in and out! And they LOVE to be in there, especially to fall asleep. Everyone who sees it asks where they can get one. It’s truly life changing with a newborn!"

— Carmen V. (5/5)

Love it!!! I wish I could one of every color and type!

"I love it so much!!! If we had the money, I'd buy one of every option they have. It has made having a koala toddler so much easier and I love how easy it is to get on and off. I would recommend this for every parent. My toddler loves it and instantly calms down and relaxes. It is my favorite carrier for breastfeeding and carrying and so comfy for it too."

— Brooklyn O. (5/5)

Everything and More

"MUST HAVE! I have one of almost every type of carrier and this has quickly become my most used. So cozy, versatile, and foolproof. You will not regret this one."

— Baylee H. (5/5)

Great option to have

"We really enjoy our Hippie Joy! It's a nice alternative to our ring slings and is super compact. I also have a hard time switching shoulders on ring slings, so it's great that I can easily wear this on either side. Definitely hoping to get a water one soon!"

— Emma G. (5/5)

Hippiejoey

"The Hippie Joey baby carrier has been one of the best baby products I've purchased. Unlike traditional wraps that require a lot of tying and adjusting, the Joey is incredibly quick and easy to use. The fabric is soft, stretchy, and comfortable for both baby and parent, making it perfect for soothing a fussy baby or keeping them close while moving around the house. What I love most is how lightweight and compact it is. It takes up very little space in a diaper bag and can be put on in seconds. My baby feels secure and comfortable, and the close contact helps with bonding and calming. It's important to note that the Hippie Joey is designed as a carry assist rather than a completely hands-free carrier, so you'll still need to keep a hand on your baby for support. However, it significantly reduces the strain on your arms and shoulders, making carrying much more comfortable. This is something both the company and many babywearing parents emphasize. Overall, I highly recommend the Hippie Joey for parents looking for a simple, comfortable, and convenient way to keep their baby close without the hassle of a traditional wrap. It's especially useful for quick ups and downs, contact naps, and everyday cuddles."
