In 2018, after being a bit fed up with the cumbersome nature of threading and adjusting my "trusty" ring sling on a hot, muggy, Alabama summer day, with a crying baby, & 3 other restless little ones in the car... (IYKYK)... 
I decided... that was IT. The "final straw" that led me to create something that just FIT without the need for adjustments, & comfy enough to nurse on the go. 

The next day, I scurried to bring my idea to life, using a leftover scrap of fabric from my fourth born's baby blanket. After some tweaking.. it worked!

I fell in love nearly instantly with the ease and seemingly magical abilities of my new invention (& the pain relief it brought me) and quickly realized that parents everywhere would benefit. This was especially obvious after being chased down through stores, with fellow moms asking... "WHAT are you wearing..!?... It looks SO much easier & more comfy than what I have!" (true story).

But duplicating the magic and ensuring the same supportive, comfortable result for people of all different body types and babies of varying sizes proved to be quite a challenge... (understatement).

After 2 years of prototyping, testing, problem- solving, debating, “momming”, home-schooling, creating, deliberating, & doing my best to ensure that my beloved "Joey" would enter the world in the safest way possible, The Hippie Joey Co. was finally launched in 2020.

Starting out, we made each Joey by hand in our home with littles at our feet, (yes, the husband even had to learn to sew! desperate times- ha!)

Joeys popularity and viral rise to fame in 2022 during our "Joey's Birthday Party Sale", made for quite the adventure for our entire family. From our master bedroom quickly filling with sewing machines and staff, to the fun of moving into our new shop, & so much more that comes with running a family business. Joey has been imitated, stolen from.. social media accounts hacked & held for "ransom".. oh yeah.. we've seen some things. It's not been an easy journey, but a gratifying and beautiful one.. yes.

Through The Hippie Joey Co., we have successfully made a positive impact on the lives of thousands of families around the globe through the magic of Joey as well as give-back & charity efforts, like our Joey Fosters Love Program. We are so thrilled for this new season, with our amazing staff "family" by our side, & can't wait to see where the journey leads next.
