Sizing

Joeys are sized like a garment to the ADULT wearer for SAFETY & COMFORT and can be used interchangeably from newborns through big kids to support your natural carrying and comforting positions when properly fitted!

SNUG is BEST for safety, comfort & optimum longevity. You can find your perfect Joey size with ONE simple measurement!

If you land between measurements (or very close to)- you may chose the smaller size for extra firm support with heavier babies + toddlers. Or choose the larger size for snug but more relaxed. We also recommend choosing the larger size when measuring during early pregnancy, when wanting JoeyWATER for more everyday use with clothing, and for MEN.

*Daddys typically prefer one size above their measurement.

Weight Limit

Joey is considered an assistant carrier/ garment by CPSC, and is there to support your natural carrying & comforting positions from birth & for as long as both you and your kiddo are feeling comfy & secure (Woo Hoo!)

Generally around 35-40lbs for most.

Joeys have proven valuable in NICU settings for skin-to skin therapy when properly monitored for proper breathing and cleared/ under the guidance of a professional.

All though there may be many times users feel quite confident and secure enough to remove their hands briefly, Joey is not a "hands free device" and we recommend always staying fully aware and in control.

There are NO approved Joey Vendors. There are many imitators selling very poorly made "versions", frequently with stolen images, false claims & unsafe recommendations placing babies at risk.

If you have been deceived by one of these companies, we are so sorry. We highly recommend discontinuing use immediately & contacting our team with a copy of your receipt for a small gift of store credit to go towards the purchase of a real, TRUE JOEY.

Joey ships WORLDWIDE! (*a few select areas may not be covered)  We are so excited about how our Joey Mob is growing around the globe, and want to make sure that you are informed on every aspect of ordering, delivery, and support. 

Due to the custom nature of our product, we require a photo of you for sizing reference at time of order to be eligible for a warranty replacement or refund. Ideally, this would be a photo of you taking your measurement. This helps ensure we get you the perfect fit on the first try! Here's how to find your Joey measurement. 

We collect the import duty and tax at checkout to make it easy and convenient for you! However, please note, if for any reason duty and tax is not collected at checkout those fees will be due upon delivery. International customers will be responsible for return shipping costs and duties/ initial shipping expenses cannot be refunded.

Love my Hippie Joey!

"I love my Hippie Joey! I am still getting used to it - there is definitely a learning curve for a first time mom and a first time baby wearer. But it’s become my go-to wrap for situations where I need an “easy on, easy off” and I’m not planning on using my hands for much. My baby is only 3 months old, so I might see this as a good carrier for doing stuff around the house or working remotely when he has more head control, but for now, this is a great carrier for hanging out, being at church, and keeping the buddy close. Also - the customer service is AWESOME. Truly, I love being able to reach out to a team I can trust to help me with fit questions and to get the best product possible. Team Hippie Joey!"

Not everyone loves this thing. . .

"Unfortunately the hippie joey was NOT for us. And unfortunately the return policy didn’t allow for free returns AND it had to be in perfect condition (after they advise you to use your feet and anything else you can think of the stretch the heck out of it before you give up). Wish I could have tried it before I bought it. Now I’m out $200 for a piece of white cloth. So disappointed. My baby absolutely hated it, and wearing it made it so I couldn’t move my arm. It was awful for us. Hope everyone else has a better experience."

"I waited almost two months but it was worth the wait and price. I live in Australia so I expected to wait for some time plus the fabric that I ordered was a pre sale. I emailed staff for an eta and they were very professional and kind. My LO is now 17 weeks and he loves it just as much as I do."

Disappointed

"I desperately needed something to assist me with my newborn, so my friend recommended this product. My little one was 3 weeks old when I placed my order and it took OVER 5 WEEKS for it to arrive. I never would have purchased this if I had known it would take that long. I regret spending the money on something this expensive when I could have been using it for those 5 weeks when I needed it most. I will say that the fabric is great quality and it is very well made, but mine was a little too snug and I had a difficult time putting my baby in it by myself. Not wanting to give up on it too soon, I tried to make it work. By the time I decided this product was not for me, I had just missed the 30 day return window. Waste of money. Would not recommend."

"Its definitely cozy for my 4 month old and my 4 year old even asks to go in it whenever I take it out. I find it to be overstimulating due to the fact that it is very tight (as its supposed to be) and the fabric for the seat never stays between baby and myself which annoys me. It also adds to the shoulder and neck strain I already have from breastfeeding. Beautiful soft fabric and so cozy for the babies. Not so comfortable for mom unfortunately. Really wanted to love this. I’m sorry."

It’s okay

"It’s sturdy quality but it ultimately didn’t work for me and my baby. I wanted a simple way to carry my baby but she kept slipping at the bottom of this one. The material is extremely tight and while I understand it’s “supposed” to be, I think I had the incorrect size recommended to me. I had measured myself based on comfort and accounted for post partum belly, and they had said to go a size down. Which after trying to make it work, was really just too tight even with the breaking in. My baby was getting distressed by how tight it was. My baby’s bum also kept slipping out of the Joey, even when I followed their instructions and videos as it would continuously roll up. She was 3 months old at this time. I then returned it and bc I’m in Canada, the price to return it was basically how much it was to purchase it so in the end I still shelled out about $95 extra (with their refund of $140 for the item) and nothing kept for myself. I wanted to support a small business and of course the tarrifs aren’t their fault but that’s just my experience."

Sick-Time Snuggles

"I purchased my hippie joey for an upcoming trip to Ireland where I wanted a quick way to carry my 1-year old if he was being fussy and didn't want to be in the stroller anymore, without the bulk of a carrier. It arrived the day before he got a 102 fever and was cranky, sleepy and just needed snuggles. It came in so handy for contact naps and just general connection while he was feeling icky. He took to it right away. Really happy with it so far!"
